Asynchronous JavaScript and XML, Ajax for short, is a Web development technique used to aid the creation of interactive Web applications. Instead of needing to reload an entire webpage with each update from the server, Ajax allows a JavaScript engine to exchange data with the server behind the scenes as well as update parts of the existing webpage within the user's browser. Ajax allows webpages to be more responsive, usable, and interactive.
