The following article explains how to add a MySQL database in cPanel. A recent security update to cPanel has disabled the ability to use phpMyAdmin to add new MySQL databases through cPanel. As a workaround, you can use cPanel's built-in MySQL database interface to add new MySQL databases. This procedure must be performed as the user for the domain, rather than as the administrator.

To add a MySQL database, please follow these steps:

  1. Open a web browser and connect to your cPanel Control Panel located at http://ip address:2083.
  2. Login as the user for the domain.
  3. From the main page, click MySQL databases. From the main page, click MySQL databases.
  4. Enter a name for the database and click Add Db. Enter a name for the database and click Add DB.
  5. Once the database creation completes, click Go Back.
