How do I activate my free SmarterMail license for my Windows VPS?

The following article explains how to activate your free SmarterMail license for your Windows VPS. SmarterMail can be used to configure email accounts for each of your domains.

Windows .NET and CF VPS customers: your plan includes a 50 domain license version of SmarterMail. You must first retrieve your license through your Control Panel.

Windows VPS Base customers: your plan includes a 1 domain license version of SmarterMail. This license is already activated for you.

Once your license is activated, you can access SmarterMail in a Web browser using http://ip_address:9998.

To activate your 50 domain license, please follow these steps:

1. Log into your server through Remote Desktop Connection (instructions for connecting to your server through RDC can be found here).
2. Double-click the Log into SmarterMail icon on your desktop.
3. Login as the administrator using the following information:
   • Full email address: admin
   • Password: admin
   
4. From the top menu bar, click Settings.
5. From the left side bar, expand Activation and click Activate Product.
6. Enter the License Key for SmarterMail and click Next.
7. Enter the Email Address and Password provided by SmarterTools.
8. Click Activate Now.

You have now successfully activated the 50 domain license for SmarterMail. If you wish to upgrade this license, please contact SmarterTools.
