What VPS Plans are being offered by HostMySite?

Answer:

HostMySite.com offers a variety of Windows VPS plans with a variety of features. Our Base plan offers you the basics of a Windows server with more power and control than a shared account. Our ASP.NET and ColdFusion VPS plans offer developers a more advanced environment to create and deploy their projects.

Question:

What email program can I use with my VPS?

Answer:

HostMySite's VPS Base plans include a free version of SmarterMail. This free version is limited to 10 email users on a single domain. All other Windows VPS plans include a free SmarterMail license limited to 50 domains and 250 users. To retrieve your free 50 domain license, follow the instructions found here.

If you wish to upgrade your license, you can contact SmarterTools directly. If you prefer, you may install an alternate email program on your VPS. You can access SmarterMail in a Web browser using http://ip_address:9998.

Question:

What statistics program can I use with my VPS?

Answer:

HostMySite's VPS Base plans include a free version of SmarterStats. This free version is limited to a single domain. All other Windows VPS plans include a free 50 domain license for SmarterStats. To retrieve your free 50 domain license, follow the instructions found here.

If you wish to upgrade your license, you can contact SmarterTools directly. If you prefer, you may install an alternate statistics program on your VPS. You can access SmarterStats in a Web browser using http://ip_address:9999.

Question:

What are my options if I need a SQL 2005 Standard edition database?

Answer:

With all of our Windows VPS plans, you have the option of adding a shared SQL 2005 Standard edition database for $10/month. The database will be 600 MB in size and will reside on one of our shared SQL servers. This can either be requested during the order process or by contacting us after your Windows VPS account has been created. This is available for all new customers as well as existing customers that are upgrading from a shared hosting account.

Question:

Can I purchase additional IP addresses for my VPS?

Answer:

Yes, you may purchase additional IP addresses at the rate of $1 per month per IP address. Please contact support@hostmysite.com to purchase additional IP addresses.

Question:

How can I restore a file on my VPS?

Answer:

HostMySite.com does a full backup of your VPS server once a week as well as incremental backups daily. If you require a restore of a file, folder or website, please contact support@hostmysite.com. Restores can be performed at a rate of $35 per incident. An incident can range from a single file to a full website.

Question:

Am I responsible for installing Windows patches on my VPS?

Answer:

No, patches are applied by HostMySite.com during our normal maintenance window for Windows patches. Rigorous quality assurance testing is performed on the patches in a test environment before they are applied to your VPS.
